Once it is, you can begin manipulating it into the desired shapes and designs. If you're working with multiple colors, it's best to work with the light colors first, then move on to the darker ones. Doing so can help you avoid transferring the dark clay colors to the lighter clay when you work with it.
If you're laying clay pieces on top of one another, ensure they stick after baking by firmly pressing the raw clay pieces together. For a smooth finish and to remove any fingerprints or other minor textural imperfections on your creation, you can sand and buff them or apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to the marks with a cotton swab.
